Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

no, im not eager for 2010 as i am very nervous about it. I'm making that last days of 2009 last and fruitful so that i could remember them.

bunch of useless things agian. This journal may get pretty random and... just random.

right now my 2010 planner is filled with stuff that i want to do and finish at a certain time. but as i know myself i wont be able to do all of it.

for me 2010 is full of wishes. i wish that i could get over a lot of things, i wish that i wouldn't be disappointed by things that should be giving me happiness instead anymore, and i wish that my life im living now could just be simple. but i think i am just thinking too much. but im not sure with that.

someone said i don't think over what other people are doing to me, and he says that even though those ppl generally don't care about me i still stick around and protect them. well i noticed that much earlier than he did, but i was happy that someone noticed. im not the loser to that, i may have been using those people just because.

I wish i could fill my Gallery this year with decent artworks. as in decent enough to sell, well 30% of the reason was for money but the rest is to experience hanging in a booth for once. but i think im looking for ward to it a bit early, but even though i might not be selling my works i'd like to make more friends and hang out with them during cons..
